The Department of General and Pediatric Ophthalmology at the Medical University of Lublin is organizing a series of training courses for ophthalmologists from Ukraine. Currently, training is being conducted in vitrectomy, a microsurgical procedure aimed at removing pathological lesions from the retina and vitreous body. The specialized course for Ukrainian doctors is supported by the Association of Ophthalmic Surgeons of Poland and the pharmaceutical industry. Training will be repeated periodically.
The recipient of the prestigious grant is Dr. Olga Denysiuk from Kiev
I would like to thank Professor Robert Rejdak and the Polish Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons for the opportunity to hold a prestigious internship in vitreoretinal surgery in Lublin. This is an example of support and cooperation between two universities of the Medical University of Lublin and Shupyk National University of Healthcare Of Ukraine, which provides an opportunity to learn and improve one’s qualifications. The opportunity to practice various surgical techniques and procedures on a special virtual simulation gives incredible insight and gives the young surgeon the opportunity to work and train before the actual operation. Assisting in various operations is, of course, the most important and effective way to become a vitreoretinal surgeon. We are planning joint educational and research projects that will enhance this collaboration and provide opportunities for advancement in the field of surgery.
